The propagules are a form of asexual reproduction in plants, obtained by the new individual organs. The tissues of the separate portion must regain the status of meristems to produce the full range of plant organs
As most important forms of propagules are:
Sprigs: branches, after growing a lot, actually touch the ground and take root a new plant breeding. This occurs in the strawberry and many grasses
Rhizomes: underground stems that grow horizontally elongated. To encroach upon, give rise to new plants. Typical are the lilies.
Tubers: more or less spherical portions of underground stems, rich in nutritive material. On its surface are developed buds (eyes) capable of giving rise to a new plant. Examples arepotato and groundnut.
The bulbs: stems short and conical with a large terminal budsurrounded by numerous leaves that store reserve substances. In the axils of these leaves form the bulbs of renewal. These bulbs give off to make way for a new plant. Examples are the onion and tulip.
